Your New Weekend Wellness Routine

With all the hustle and bustle during the working week, it is crucial to set aside time to rest! This wellness routine is what I have implemented into my weekend to ensure my peace and boost my mood. It has lifted my spirits so much I decided to share it with you!!
I want to preface this with the disclaimer that I do not get through all of these things some days. Some days I just want to lay around and that is A-OK. Some days I will only do a couple of these things, doesn't matter - this is a list to avoid stress so no need to be strict here.
1. Making my bed 🛏 being one of the first things to do in the day - doing this helps set the tone for my day and makes me feel productive even if I don't do it neat and well. I have decided that it is better to chunk the blanket across the bed rather than having it in a crumpled up ball. This has made this task not seem like such a chore for me and I feel so much better after!! Some days, I decide to make it neat and others I don't. It makes a daunting albeit small task seem doable for me on my hard days.
2. Take off the Apple Watch 👋🏼 taking off trackers on the weekend is my way of setting boundaries on my fitness journey. It helps me maintain a balanced mindset that priorities mindful movement over measurements. It also keeps me more present throughout my day - it feels amazing to not have my wrist vibrate every hour! I highly recommend doing this if you have trouble setting aside time for yourself.
3. Set the mood 😏 I love love love to burn incense or light a candle for those good smells and warm light; it is oh so cozy. Turn some music on, make yourself a breakfast that is a little fancier than your usual grab and go. Brew some coffee, drink some warm lemon water, whatever beverage that boots your mood!
4. Do some sort of light activity 🧘🏼♀️ yoga, walk around the block, clean, etc. move your bod in a way that feels good and your endorphins will be popping for the rest of the day!!
